The Selected Rurals in China (January 1989) is a collection of essays by Comrade Du Runsheng, director of the Rural Development Research Center of the State Council. Comrade Du Runsheng is one of the active advocates and policy makers in China’s rural reform. This book contains an important account of the rural status quo and prospects as well as the party’s rural policies since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee. The publication of this book is of great guiding significance for the study and understanding of China’s rural reform. It is a rare bibliography for the broad masses of rural cadres, managers and managers at all levels, peasant entrepreneurs, theorists and teaching workers.
