我们应当如何解读一位活跃多年但不知何种原因一直被埋没至今的艺术家创作生涯?这是一个任何熟悉中国当代艺术圈的人在审视章清过去十多年的创作生涯时都会想到的问题。在这个经常被缩减为几个孤立图像的不断蔓延的圈子里,持续关注一位长期在场但备受忽略的艺术家近年来的全部产出能给人带来许多启发。章清的作品为我们呈现了一个与近年席卷中国艺术界的各种潮流和主题平行的小宇宙,但同时又保留了一种独特的感知力,直到现在才被完全发掘。
How should we interpret the creative career of an artist who has been active for many years but for some reason has been buried for so long? This is a question that anyone familiar with Chinese contemporary art circles will think of when he reviewed his ten years of creative career with Zhang Qing. In this ever-expanding circle of often-reduced, isolated images, it is enlightening to keep a close eye on the full output of a long-standing but neglected artist in recent years. Zhang Qing’s work presents us with a small universe that is parallel to the various tidal currents and themes sweeping the Chinese art scene in recent years, yet at the same time preserves a unique perception that has only been fully explored till now.
