As Europeans arrived at the beginning of the New World, Latin America was repeatedly hit hard by the epidemic. These diseases are mainly caused by the virus that Europeans bring to the New World. The frequent epidemic has had a profound impact on Latin America. First, the epidemic brought a large number of sick people or deaths, causing a serious shortage of workforce in the New World and thus opening up the black slavery in Latin America. Second, the onset of the epidemic has greatly reduced the combat effectiveness of the indigenous population, thereby accelerating the conquest of the Spanish colonialists. Third, the frequency of the epidemic has affected the indigenous Indian population. Finally, objectively, colonists resist the epidemic and bring more scientific and rational ideas and measures to prevent the disease from happening in the new world, thus promoting the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Latin America.
