最近,南通市委、市政府决定将市政府大院整体划拨给南通中学办教育,有关划拨、转让协议已于日前签定。这标志着有近百年历史的名校江苏省南通中学有了更大的发展空间。在这一实施“科教兴市”的重大举措中,政协委员提案起到了积极的推动作用。加快新区建设市政府迁出闹市区南通市政府大院坐落在南通城中轴线上,为市人大、市政府、市政协机关办公地点。院前是“南通商业第一街”南大街和市内最为繁华的人民路,从地产、商业的价值看,其含金量之高在早已寸土寸金的闹市区称得上是首屈一指。按照“十五”期间建设现代化百万人口大城市总体目标,去年南通市全面启动新城区开发建设。为了全力推进新区建设步伐,明年底市委、市政府机关将率先迁入新区行政中心。
