关于三峡工程不利环境影响的对策鲜为人知。所进行的研究和提出的减免措施是按照国际大坝委员会公布的一般指南进行的。如果没有所有受影响人群积极参与制定的补救措施，建坝的不利影响是不能接受的。三峡工程的兴建为长江中下游地区的经济发展创造了机遇。经过审查的重要社会经济影响包括移民搬迁、基础设施建设、人群健康影响和景观与文物古迹影响，以及大部分对自然环境的影响和相应的减免措施。
Little is known about the countermeasures against adverse environmental impacts of the Three Gorges Project. The research carried out and proposed relief measures were carried out in accordance with the general guidelines published by the International Commission on Dams. Without the active participation of all affected people in formulating remedial measures, the adverse impact of dam construction is unacceptable. The construction of the Three Gorges Project has created opportunities for economic development in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The most important socio-economic impacts reviewed include the relocation of migrants, the infrastructure construction, the health effects of populations and the impact of landscape and heritage sites, as well as most of the impact on the natural environment and corresponding relief measures.
