Stephen Bishamp, known as “The Prince of Guided Tours,” in the Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, USA. In the state of Kentucky, there are several light shades on the rock walls of the Mammoth caves, illuminated by Stephen’s lantern. He hurriedly followed behind the Wizard Mr. Miller, stumbled on a rocky path in fear that Mr. Miller would leave his sight, for then he would not be able to go out. Stephen was a slave to Franklin Goring. His master bought the Mammoth Cave and wanted to develop it as a tourist attraction. Like most people in the 1830s, he did not mind the protection of natural wonders and wanted only to make a fortune from them. As slaves did not receive their wages, Goering decided to train Stephen, a 17-year-old tourist guide.
