新编初中《物理》第一册关于“长度测量的一些特殊方法”中提到用“滚尺”测量曲线的长度。为了增强教学效果,教师可按课本图1—7自制一个滚尺,尺部选用三层粘板制做。为减少测量时尺身的摆动,轴部加厚为宜。尺的半径可取7.96厘米或15.92厘米,则滚动一周便为0.5米或1米。制做时还需将尺的周边按厘米划分刻度并标出,尺的“0”位标度尤要明显。演示时,可在黑板上画出一条较长的曲线,先将尺的0位对准该线的一端,然后,让尺沿曲线慢慢滚动,并叫学生记住滚过的
