在去年12月20日全国政协礼堂隆重举行的首届外国最佳邮票评选活动领奖大会全部议程按计划进行完毕即将宣告胜利闭幕时,大会主持人突然向与会600位中外来宾宣布了一个好消息:大会收到了奥地利邮政寄来的特快专递邮件,对大会表示祝贺并决定报名参加2003年第2届外国最佳邮票的评选活动。并寄来了奥地利2002年发行的全部邮票供展览使用。同时按组委会要求,推荐其中的一套邮票和一枚小型张供参评用。对于第一个报名参加评选活动的奥地利邮政,大会报以热烈的掌声表示感谢。
