Two U.S. companies recently announced that they are preparing to produce a new natural plastic material based on plants. Cargill and Dow Chemical invented a technology to produce corn-based plastics that can be used to make clothing, containers, and other goods. The two companies said that the strength of the new plastic is fully comparable to that of traditional plastics made from petroleum.
