在摩尔定律之下,产品的生命周期因应竞争的市场需求,尤其是消费性电子往往一季到两季就得推出新产品,但在耗电量与高效率的问题上却有无法突破的瓶颈,除了物理上的基本限制之外,针对高端多重应用需求,如同时结合影像、声音、数据汇流的TRIPLE PLAY,加上通信、储存容量、频率速度等都有要求,因此不论是小自移动手持设备,大至计算机、服务器、工业用计算机等,对于技术的要求只有时程开发上的不同,但这样的趋势已经成为势必崛起的力量。
