Wet semi-self-grinding technology has continued to develop and is widely used in large-tonnage capacity crushing practice. Occasionally, other new technologies that can replace wet semi-autogenous abrasives are also considered, but are often discouraged by the overwhelming acceptance of the existing wet semi-autogenous mill technology. Nonetheless, these new technologies have proven to be successful and continue to make progress in this well-known industrial area that is cautious about change. Before exploring the merits of these new technologies, it is valuable to understand the background of the success of wet-SEM technology. Many of the early mill plants that used wet semi-autogenous mills performed much better than the conventional crushers and ball mills when the treated ores were particularly wet bonded.
