一、翻译古籍。我国古代典籍卷帙浩繁,举世罕见。解读晓义,是继承灿烂古代文化的锁钥。这就要依靠语言学中的古汉语知识,特别是其中的训诂学、文字学。二、语言文学教学,小学的识字教学,中学的汉语知识教学,大学的各门语言文学课教学及对外汉语教学,都要依赖语言学知识。三、为社会交际服务。其用途可分为两类:①指导交际。②方便交际。四、对人机对话研究服务。计算机在人类社会出现之后,智能计算机的出现为人类描画了利用机器做各种各样工作的美好而广阔的前景。而要让计算机更好地服从人的意志,则须使它理解人类的语言,实现人机对话。其先决条件是:把人类自然语言的材料和结构规则详详细细地告诉计算机。语言工作者把语言大大小小的组合规
