北京大学出版社于1996年初出版了《未来之路》。1997年初,北大出版社又推出了《联想为什么》。在1998年刚刚来临之际,北大出版社再次不失时机地向广大读者送来了又一份厚礼——《蓝色巨人——IBM 在中国》。该书与上述两书有共同之处,都是描述大的信息集团公司的兴衰发展奥妙的。该书主要依据是对世界上最大的信息产业公司——国际商业机器公司(IBM)采访调查得到的第一手资料。它具体介绍了 IBM 在中国的发展史、运作模式、市场战略(一切围绕网络计算)及经营方针(以硬件为体,软件为魂,服务为本)。作者力图在数字社会的宏大背景下,对 IBM 公司进行全面剖析——追溯其昔日的辉煌,展示其今天的风貌,披露他们对明天的思考。
Peking University Press published “The Road to the Future” in early 1996. In early 1997, Beijing University Press launched “Lenovo Why?” At the dawn of 1998, Peking University Publishing House once again lost no time in sending another gift to readers - “Blue Giant - IBM in China.” The book has something in common with the above two books. It describes the mystery of the rise and fall of big information group companies. The book is mainly based on first-hand information obtained from an interview with the world’s largest information industry company, IBM. It specifically introduced IBM’s history of development in China, its operating model, market strategy (all around network computing) and its operating principles (using hardware as its core, software as its soul, and service as its foundation). The author sought to perform a comprehensive analysis of IBM in the grand context of the digital society - to trace its past glory, to present its style today, and to disclose their thinking about tomorrow.
