Every day in hospitals across the country, countless hours consumed in the measurement of body temperature. Often it is considered abnormal and simply a basis of activity simply because of the increase in body temperature. . However, very low body temperature is equally important from a nursing standpoint. Nurses should know the severity of both hypothermia and overdose, especially in the elderly should try to prevent. This article explains why the elderly are over- or under-temperature-related and pathophysiology, and provides appropriate conditioning to prevent or alleviate these changes. People experience significant changes in ambient temperature due to the effects of seasons or other climates, but the body temperature control mechanism is so effective that the body temperature can usually be maintained within a narrow range of about 97 to 99.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
