现阶段中国雕塑已进入了黄金发展期。中国传统是不重视市民、广场雕塑、城市雕塑的,现在有了良好的氛围。这样的环境来之不易。回顾历史,中国有着非常好的陵墓雕塑传统,有许多非常好的雕塑作品在帝王陵墓中体现出来,特别是北魏北齐的佛教雕塑,在世界上也是比较突出的。但是作为城市雕塑、作为为市民服务的雕塑、作为公共艺术的雕塑,我们却缺少这样的传统。以前在中国,广场雕塑根本就没有。从严格意义上来说,欧洲是从文艺复兴时期以后才有城市雕塑的,城市雕塑基本上是在19世纪以后。20世纪中期以后的欧美,前苏联给我们提出了一些关于城市雕塑的问题和经验。应该说城市雕塑的历史在中国是
