Ten years ago, when the Japanese writer Haruki Murakami’s “Norwegian Woods” popped in, my classmates were so overwhelmed by sorrow. I was never intoxicated by the love, death and sadness in the story, but I was longing for the country like Norway. Ten years later, when the song “Norwegian Forest” swept the campus, my students were mesmerized by the immersion. But I think, love and the Norwegian forest have a relationship? I know Norway has never been breath of death, nor so much sad love. Where the sun is always bright and warm, where the sky is always bright and clean, the sea is blue, and the mountains and wilderness are as green as the prehistoric century. In a word, Norway, as I know and feel, is a union of man and nature, that is, human being and nature are harmoniously interdependent.
