The expansion of the Canadian canola industry in the United States will depend in part on the development of its pest management strategy. In a professional sense, beetle pests pose a serious threat to canola canola grown in the annual rapeseed production in the northern Great Plains. In the United States, the selection and prevention of this pest complex has not been identified. In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of several pesticides used to control major hoptoolids and their indoor and field efficacy. In the laboratory studies, Cimetidine is the most effective insecticide, followed by Permethrin, Endosulfan, Cis-fenvalerate and Malathion. West Vientiane
