美国著名的年轻经济学家保罗·克鲁格曼最近预言:到2015年,中国经济规模将接近美国。他认为,按照日本过去20年的增长率计算,日本最快要在2050年甚至更长时间方可超过美国,但届时全球显赫经济大国可能是中国而非美国。他称,虽然未来10至20年内中国经济增长速度将会放缓,但以中国面积之大,即使其增长率追不上西方国家人均收入水平,也可轻易提高在全球经济中的比重。
The famous young economist Paul Krugman of the United States recently predicted: By 2015, China’s economy will be close to the United States. In his view, according to the growth rate of Japan in the past 20 years, Japan will surpass the United States as soon as possible in 2050 or even longer, but the world’s most prominent economic power may be China instead of the United States. He said although China’s economic growth will slow down in the next 10 to 20 years, taking China as a huge area can easily increase its share in the global economy even if its growth rate fails to catch up with the average per capita income of Western countries.
