20世纪文化格局的最大变化当属大众文化的异军突起。尤其是20世纪中后期以来,大众文化日益成为当代文化空间中的文化主流之一,甚至越来越成为当下文化格局中的主导者。与此相对,传统的精英文化则相对式微,无论从创作端、传播过程还是接受端来说,都呈现出某种衰退的趋势。在大众语境兴起下探讨精英文化的发展策略应当是当代文化研究的重要课题。
The greatest change in the 20th century cultural pattern is the sudden emergence of popular culture. Especially since the mid and late 20th century, popular culture has increasingly become one of the mainstream cultures in contemporary cultural space, and has even become the leader in the current cultural landscape. In contrast, the traditional elite culture is relatively modest, both in the creative side, the communication process or the receiving end, showing a trend of recession. In the context of the rise of the mass environment, the strategy of exploring elite culture should be an important issue in contemporary cultural studies.
