本文以人地关系协调论为基本人地观，以人地关系地域系统理论为理论基础，以综合集成方法的方法论为指导，以山东省人地系统调控与跨世纪可持续发展对策作为实践研究内容。重点探讨了人地关系认识模式的演替及科学研究范式的建立、人地系统的基本特征、人地系统演替的动力学机制、人地系统研究方法论的基本框架、人地系统ＰＲＥＤ的理论与方法、山东省ＰＲＥＤ集成化仿真模型系统与决策支持系统、山东省ＰＲＥＤ系统演替的历史背景、山东省ＰＲＥＤ系统现状特征及跨世纪面临的问题及山东省跨世纪可持续发展的主要对策等。
