Luteinizing hormone plays an important role in the development of follicular luteinization and ovary function. Luteinizing hormone (LH) level or LH peak abnormality may slow egg growth and impair fertilization. Abnormalities in follicular formation may be related to an increase in LH concentration at early follicular phase or an increase in LH pulse frequency at early follicular phase. LH peak duration and peak reduction may also be associated with unexplained infertility and infertility caused by endometriosis. The authors studied the relationship between fertility and changes in LH, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and steroid hormones in follicular fluid before ovulation. The subjects were 67 infertile women
