在九四年十月份的世界女排锦标赛上出现了一件令人哭笑不得的事情。先是韩国队4号主攻手张润喜在赛前的性别抽查中查出具有男性特征,两天后的复查中予以澄清。其后便是韩国队因张润喜被禁赛以0:3负德国队一役向国际排联提出抗议,而罗马尼亚队也对国际排联因在结果公布之前张润喜上场参赛使己队以1:3负韩国附-役提出书面申诉,一时弄得国际排联的负责人尴尬不已,难以下台,甚至互相推诿,最终不了了之。象上面这次因性别引起的纠纷只不过是众多性别之争中的一次。尽管男女有别,但在体育比赛中,男扮女装的事情常有发生。性别舞弊事件虽不能同运动员服违禁药物相比,但国际奥委会还是投入了足够的人力、财力去专门研究和开发男女性别的鉴定项目。以下便是本世纪颇有影响的几宗性别舞弊事件:
