In the summer of 2013, with my colleagues, I volunteered for a half-month of teaching activities organized by the Qianlin Rock Temple in Zhangzhou. During the activity, I undertook the teaching work as well as the life teacher of three of the children. Two of the three children are urban migrant children, while the other is an orphan adopted by village residents. Since I am the youngest among volunteers, the children affectionately call me “Rong Jie.” In this simple and fulfilling supportive education, I have gained a rare educational experience on weekdays in school classrooms. I know it is my “surprise and novelty”.
