有人说:“真实性是新闻的生命。”我也赞成,任何“合理想象”,或者缩小、或者夸大,移花接木,胡编乱造,都不符合新闻的真实性原则,都会损害新闻的价值。但是,我们能否说,凡是真实的新闻,都具有新闻价值,或者都能起到它的社会效应呢?不一定。所以,我又不完全赞成“真实性是新闻的生命”这一命题。因为它在表述上不完整、不准确。何以见得?不妨举一个例子。最近,在一家全国颇有影响的法制报纸上看到一篇题为《刘市长治赖人》的通讯,介绍了山西省临汾市的市长清正廉洁,敢于碰硬,依法整治一批无事生非、为非作歹、横行乡里的无赖之徒的事迹。这本是一篇好通讯,但就在这篇好通讯的导语中有这样一段话:“1987年底,山西省
