Probably for twenty years with the stone, Yang Shufeng also looks as simple and rocky as the rock, and even his studio has nothing but piles of granite and volcanic rock. It should be said that Yang Shu-feng walked through a tortuous and solid road to life. Born in the West Lake Yangshu Feng, high school graduation coincides with “unprecedented” ten years of turmoil, in 1969 to the mountainous rural areas. Fortunately, he was recommended by villagers and organizations to become “workers, peasants and soldiers” and studied at the Department of Geology, Nanjing University. In 1981, Yang Shufeng received a master’s degree in 1984 to become China’s first self-cultivation of Dr. geosciences. In 1991, he took the position of director of geology department of Zhejiang University and director of Institute of Applied Geology. He is also a member of the State Education Commission Science Committee and the Geological Education Steering Committee.
