About a dozen years ago, Debbie and Larry LaVallee took in an abandoned puppy and named him Bruno.rnBut Bruno had other ideas. He didn't want to be tied down. Nearly every day, the dog makes the four-mile walk into town. All the residents in the area know him. He stops at city hall and the library, a couple of offices and the ice cream shop, and of course the grocery store where his friends at the deli meet him at the back door with meat they've put aside for him.
