广东省电白县博贺镇是著名的渔港镇,博贺港是广东省三大渔港之一。博贺镇的人大主席伍尚华,也因他连任四届、一干十年而闻名全县。伍尚华是电白县电城镇人,1962年参军,1976年起担任独立营营长。1979年转业回家乡电白,先后担任岭门、爵山公社的管委会副主任、党委副书记,1983年11月任爵山区长。1987年初,乡镇人大初创,伍尚华被安排担任人大主席。上级组织征求他的意见时,他说,作为共产党员,党的利益高于一切,况且,乡镇人大的建立,是我国民主法制发展的重要组成部分,干乡镇人大工作同样能为人民作贡献。于是,他愉快地服从了组织的安排,被选为当时茂名市最年轻的人大主席,年龄未到40岁。

The work of people’s congresses in townships and townships can also contribute to the people. As a result, he happily obeyed the organization’s arrangement and was elected as the youngest chairman of the People’s Congress in Maoming City at that time, under the age of 40.
