社会主义和谐社会是运作有序、良性互动的社会，是社会稳定、百姓安宁的社会，是社会管理体制不断创新和健全的社会，是平等友爱、法制健全的社会。公安机关是促进社会和谐稳定的专门力量，应该紧密结合工作实际，适应和谐社会的内在要求，充分发挥职能作用，为构建社会主义和谐社会作出应有贡献。
Socialist harmonious society is an orderly and benign society. It is a society with stable society and common people. It is a society with continuous innovation and soundness of social management system, equal and fraternal love and a sound legal system. Public security organs are the special forces that promote social harmony and stability. They should closely integrate the actual work and the inherent requirements of a harmonious society, give full play to their functions and make due contributions to building a socialist harmonious society.
