实现柑桔周年供应是日本扩大柑桔销售的有效措施之一。主要途径是采用温室栽培、不同成熟期品种搭配和鲜果贮藏。温室用两、三层薄膜复盖,多数利用柴油机加温,也有利用地热交换设备。在加热温室内的柑桔成熟期一般提早3个月,而在不加热时提早采收的时间较短。周年供应选用的品种、品系有极早熟、早熟、中熟和晚熟温州蜜柑,以及夏橙、八朔、伊予等其他晚柑类,可在露地条件下自9月上旬至5月陆续采收。贮藏柑桔常采用现代化的贮藏库、或农家简易库,有时留树贮藏
