CDR is short for China Depositary Receipts, which means that a bank acts as an escrow bank to accept the deposit of securities of the country where the non-depositary bank is located, and then the depositary bank issues negotiable tickets representing the company's securities in the country. A securities listed on the country where the depositary is located. For example, American Depositary Receipts (ADR) means that U.S. investors can buy stocks or other securities of foreign companies in U.S. dollars without involving overseas shares without regard to such issues as time difference and international settlement. If the place of listing and the issuer of the ticket are not in the United States but in China, they become CDR China Depositary Receipts.
