新课改已将学校体育课程设置为《体育与健康》。该课程的特征是以体育活动为主要手段,以促进中小学学生身心健康为主要目的的实践性基础课程。体育课是学校教学计划规定的必修课,是学校体育教学的基本组织形式。它是有计划、有组织、有目的的教与学的过程,是学生积极掌握体育科学知识、技能发展和改善身体素质、适应社会能力,形成良好的终身体育和个性的过程。体育课通常给人的印象就是“带着学生玩玩”而已,其实不然,既然是课程,在体育课上不仅要向学生传授体育技术、技能,更要让学生获得身心的愉悦,在轻松、活泼、快乐的气氛中去学知识,获得健康。创设和使用体育情境教学法,其宗旨在于应用它们完成体育教学目标。
