党和政府对民生意识的强调以及对舆论监督的重视,为民生新闻的兴起提供了广阔的空间。2002年江苏电视台城市频道推出了《南京零距离》,开创了民生电视新闻节目先河。同一时期,各地城市电台也纷纷进行民生广播新闻的探索。2002年,当时的嘉兴台在早新闻节目中推出了《昨夜今晨》子栏目,2005年新闻综合频率又将《昨夜今晨》和《市民热线》整合重组,推出民生新闻新栏目——《阿德对你讲》,成为嘉兴广播新闻的一个亮点,受到广大听众的好评。
