There are two ways to adjust the double-worm drive on the worktable of a hobbing machine: one is that the two worms are meshed or alternately meshed; the other is that one worm is meshed and the other worm plays the role of controlling the tooth-side clearance. This article mainly describes the adjustment method of two worm gears engaged or alternately engaged at the same time, and introduces several compensation methods when the tooth-side clearance is too large. 1.
