雪柳(Foneanesia foreunei Carr)属木犀科(Oleaceae)雪柳属(Fontanesia Labill)。落灌叶木、高可达5米。原产华东地区,为亚热带及温带树种。性喜光,稍耐荫;喜温暖,较耐寒;喜肥活排水性良好的土壤。 雪柳为一优良观赏树种。枝条稠密柔软,叶细如柳,晚春5—6月白花满树,宛如覆雪,故名“雪柳”。可以丛植于庭院以供观赏;群植于公园效果亦佳;散植于溪谷沟边,更显萧洒自然。枝条细而易弯曲,耐修剪,不失为一优良绿篱树种,还可作防护林下木,或作隔尘林带等嫩叶可代茶,又是良好的蜜源植物,新疆乌鲁木齐有少量栽培。为给南疆结地区增加一种优良观赏树种,我们进行了雪柳引种试验。
