20世纪以来,将国画传授纳入现代学院教育体制,是国画传承方式的历史性变革。同时,“教育”、“教学”等作为替代“传承”及“传授”的新词语得到应用。中国古代的绘画传承方式,主要有师徒授受、画学教授及自修等几种类型,而进入现代教育体制阶段之后,学院的国画的教学基本上取代了古代的画法传授体系,成为国画在当代传承方式的主体。
