11月12日,由美国Data Communications杂志、欧洲网络实验室和中国通讯学会共同主办了为期一天的Real-World Seminar(真实大世界研讨会)。研讨会由欧洲网络实验室主任Robert Mandeville先生主持。Mandeville先生作为交换技术领域的业界权威,基于实例设计了网络“招标书”。3Com、Nortel(Bay)、Cabletron和Cisco等技术领先的厂商将以同一“招标书”为准,提出各自的交换IP网方案。本刊特组织此四家厂商的技术专家对各自的方案详加介绍与评析,以飨读者。
On November 12, a one-day Real-World Seminar was held jointly by the Data Communications magazine, the European Network Laboratory, and the China Institute of Communications. The seminar was moderated by Robert Mandeville, Director of the European Network Laboratory. Mr. Mandeville, as the industry authority in the field of exchange technology, designed the network “bid documents” based on examples. Leading technology companies such as 3Com, Nortel (Bay), Cabletron, and Cisco will use the same “bidding document” as the standard and propose their own exchange IP network solutions. The magazine specially organizes the technical experts of these four manufacturers to introduce and comment on their respective plans in order to readers.
