This article discusses the use of new agents in the reduction and leaching process where sucrose is used as a reducing agent in the leaching of MnO 2 and iron removal from industrial minerals. With the addition of sucrose or syrup, MnO 2 is dissolved and reduced in a sulfuric acid solution and this method is also used to remove iron from iron oxide-contaminated kaolins and quartz. The study found that the best way to extract and reduce iron present in minerals is autoclave leaching. Statistical methods were applied in experimental design and implementation.
