1 Overview The flood and water level anomaly in flood season is one of the major short-term climatic hazards in China, which is directly related to the deployment of flood control and drought relief. The cumulative precipitation in summer along the lower reaches of the Yangtze River accounts for more than 80% of the total precipitation in the flood season, and the interannual variability is larger. Abnormal summer precipitation has become a major climatic disaster in the region, which has a serious impact on industrial and agricultural production and people’s daily lives.
