1939年1月1日,惠普公司成立。公司最初的投资仅为538美元。根据美国《财富》杂志的资料,1994年度,惠普公司销售额为250亿美元,居世界500家最大公司第97位;1995年度销售额增加到315亿美元,排名提升到第84位;1996年度销售额增加到384亿美元,排名提升到第60位;1997年度,销售额增加到429亿美元,排名进一步提升到第47位。 1981年,惠普公司在中国设立的技术服务处在北京建立,惠普开始进入中国。
