According to the 2005 annual report of financial statistics of central enterprises, in the year 2005, 169 central enterprises made a profit of 627.65 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.9%. Profit before ranked 40 companies, divide 6,000 billion yuan of central enterprises profit of 95%, including 12 corporate profits exceeded 10 billion yuan, the central enterprises encompasses 78.8% of total profits. This “12 giants” mainly comes from petroleum and petrochemical, metallurgy, telecommunications, coal, transportation and power systems, namely the traditional coal, electricity, oil and operation industries. Behind the richness of the “Twelve Giants” is the enviable income of the employees of the central enterprises. China Mobile, which won the top spot of the “12-yard giants” labor cost, used 11.2 million people to spend 13.67 billion yuan in labor costs, and the average was RMB 123,600. The per capita labor cost of the “12 Grands Clubs” has a median value of 60,000 to 70,000 yuan. The average wage of employees in the country this year was 22,400 yuan in the eastern provinces and less than 15,000 yuan in the central region. The wages of “Twelve Giants” employees are three to four times the national average wage level. With regard to the increase in labor costs, CNPC is the most eye-catching - labor costs increased by 22.2% year-on-year, while sales revenue only increased by 19.9% year-on-year, and labor costs increased more than sales. It is not just CNPC that labor costs “blow out”. Among the 169 central SOEs, there were 72 companies with a year-on-year increase in labor costs over the same period of last year, and 23 companies with a labor cost increase of more than 30% year-on-year.
