文化翻译观中译者主体性的发挥会对目标语产生巨大作用。作为林语堂翻译性写作的代表作之一,Moment in Peking中国文化的描述正是林语堂创作过程中译者主体性的充分表现,他既是作者又是译者。他既尊重西方读者的阅读习惯,又突出独特的中国文化意境。其中女性形象的表达受到英语语言文化和形式的操纵,但保留了浓郁的中国传统文化风格,且对英语起到了文化构建的作用,从而凸显了译者主体性在翻译性写作中的桥梁和沟通作用。
The translator’s subjectivity in cultural translation will have a huge effect on the target language. As one of the representative works of Lin Yutang’s translating writing, the description of Chinese culture by Moment in Peking is exactly the translator’s subjectivity in Lin Yutang’s writing process. He is both author and translator. He respected the reading habits of Western readers and highlighted the unique Chinese cultural conception. The expression of female images is controlled by the English language culture and form, but it retains a rich traditional Chinese culture and plays a role in cultural construction of English, thus highlighting the translator’s subjectivity in the bridge of translating writing and communication effect.
