吴江经济开发区成立于1992年,是江苏省首批13个省级开发区之一,连续四年成为省、苏州市的先进开发区,2002年又被省政府授予“江苏省电子信息产业基地”称号。现建成区面积21平方公里,形成集工业制造区、海关商检进出口服务区、商贸服务区以及正在兴建的出口加工贸易联网监管区为一体的发展格局。区内现有外商投资企业378家,累计引进外资27.3亿美元,到帐外资13.9亿
Wujiang Economic Development Zone was established in 1992 and is one of the first batch of 13 provincial-level development zones in Jiangsu Province. It has become the advanced development zone of Jiangsu Province and Suzhou City for four consecutive years. In 2002, it was awarded as “Jiangsu Electronic Information Industry Base ”title. Now built area of 21 square kilometers, the formation of industrial manufacturing area, the customs commodity inspection import and export service area, trade and service area and the ongoing construction of the export processing trade network supervisory area as one of the development pattern. There are currently 378 foreign-invested enterprises in the zone, with a total investment of 2.73 billion U.S. dollars and an investment of 1.39 billion yuan
