EphA2, a member of the Eph receptor tyrosine kinase family (RTKs), is widely expressed in epithelial-derived normal and tumor cells and plays a potential role in regulating cell growth, survival, migration and angiogenesis. In recent years, studies have shown that overexpression can lead to malignant transformation of cells, and can enhance the invasiveness of tumor cells, and therefore play a role in the development of the tumor. In a variety of tumor tissue studies also found that the tumor patients with the disease and prognosis have a great relationship. A review is given on its biological characteristics and functions and its laboratory and clinical studies in cancer.
