五洞闸乡地处杭州湾南岸,位于市区东部偏北。常年棉花面积占总耕地的80％,是一个集中产棉乡。1984至1993年,累计植棉79838亩,总产皮棉67081.15公担,平均亩产84kg,其中1984、1990两年亩产皮棉分别达到112.7kg和101.8kg,成为慈溪市棉花连续10年大面积高产的模范乡。 1.确立棉花伏前生育指标 五洞闸为沿海棉区,常年气候为多春寒、梅雨、伏旱、秋雨、台风。年降水量1420mm,其中1000mm左右集中于棉花生长期。据统计,10年间平均每亩总蕾量22.81万个,其中7月15日止为13.17万
