左安门位于永定门东侧,为外城南面三座城门中东侧的大门,为西侧的右安门相对,俗称“礓嚓门”。左安门建于明嘉靖三十二年(153年),即北京外城建成的时间。左安门城楼为单层单檐歇山式,灰筒瓦顶;面阔三间,通宽16米,进深一间,通进深9米,高6,5米,楼连城台通高15米;瓮城呈半圆形,东西宽23米,南北长29米。箭楼为单檐歇山小式,灰筒瓦顶;面阔三间宽13米,进深一间宽6米,高7.1米,楼连城台通高16.6米;其南侧面辟两层箭窗,每层7孔;东西侧面亦辟两层箭窗,每层3孔侧面正中辟过木方门。
Zuo’anmen is located on the east side of Yongding Gate and is the gate to the middle east side of the three city gates on the south of the Outer City. It is the opposite of the You’anmen on the west side. It is commonly known as the “slam door.” Zuo’anmen was built in the 32nd year of Jiajing Jiajing (153 years), which is the time for the construction of Beijing’s Outer City. The Zuo’anmen Tower is a single-storey, single-storey Xieshan-style, gray-ceilinged tile roof; it has three wide-openings, a width of 16 meters, a deep one, a depth of 9 meters, a height of 6,5 meters, and a floor height of 15 meters. Yucheng is semicircular, 23 meters wide from east to west and 29 meters long from north to south. The arrow tower is a single tower Xieshan small type, gray tile roof; face width of three width 13 meters, into a deep width of 6 meters, 7.1 meters high, building Lianchengtaitong high 16.6 meters; its south side of the provision of two layers of arrows, each Layer 7 hole; east and west sides also provided two layers of arrows, each side of the three-hole side of the middle of the wood side of the door.
