艾丽斯·奥斯瓦尔德的自然主题诗歌承继了英格兰的自然诗歌创作传统,通过对自然的丰富性和多样性的描写,将华兹华斯和休斯等诗人所构建的英格兰自然主题诗歌传统加以拓展,突破英格兰诗歌传统中的人类中心,提出人与自然和谐共生、相互尊重、精神融合的诗歌理念,为当代英格兰诗歌确立了新的自然观。奥斯瓦尔德在自然主题的诗歌创作中,融入对英格兰经典和西方经典的再阐释,将当代对自然生态的思考和身份构建联结起来,丰富了自然主题诗歌的内涵,在开拓自然诗歌创作的新领域的同时,也为当代英格兰性的建构提出了新的可能性。
