书法是我国优秀文化遗产,是中华民族特有的传统艺术,有着博大精深的文化内涵和文化魅力。在新疆高校双语教学中开设汉字书法(书写)课,是书法教育教学实践中探索双语教学改革发展的新领域、新思路和新途径,更是对新疆民族学生进行中华传统文化教育的必然要求和重要手段。书法教学在培养民族学生良好的道德品质、提高民族学生的智能素质、审美素质以及身心健康的全面发展等诸方面具有广泛的现实意义。
