Objective: To investigate the relationship between Ezrin and P53 expression and clinicopathological features in colorectal cancer. Methods: From May 2014 to June 2016, 140 patients with colorectal cancer admitted to our hospital underwent surgical resection of colorectal cancer. After inclusion criteria were excluded, 94 cases of cancerous tissue specimens were included in the study and served as the research group. 35 cases of normal colorectal mucosa resected from surgical specimens were selected as the control group. The expression of Ezrin and P53 was detected by immunohistochemistry, and the correlation was analyzed between them. Results: The positive rates of Ezrin and p53 in the study group were 52.13% and 56.38%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the control group (x 2 = 25.731 and 33.496, P <0.05). The positive rates of Ezrin and p53 in high and moderately differentiated patients were 46.99% and 51.81%, respectively, which were significantly lower than 90.91% and 90.91% (x ~ 2 = 7.508, P <0.05; P <0.05). The positive rates of Ezrin and p53 in patients with lymph node metastasis were 77.05% and 68.85%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those in patients without lymph node metastasis (6.06% and 33.33%, x 2 = 43.245, = 15.846, P <0.05). The positive rate of Ezrin in invasive depth T3 and T4 was 55.81%, which was significantly higher than that in invasive T1 and T2 (12.50%, x2 = 5.503, The positive rates of Ezrin and p53 were 88.24% and 74.51%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those of TNM stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ (9.30%, 34.88%, P <0.05) 0.05). Of 49 Ezrin positive patients, p53 was positive in 11 patients, while in 56 Ezrin negative patients, p53 was negative in 14 patients. There was no correlation between Ezrin expression and p53 expression (r = 0.209, P> 0.05). Conclusion: Both Ezrin and P53 proteins have some correlation with the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer, which is helpful to judge the prognosis of colorectal cancer.
