American economists Lederer and Parkin argue that inflation is a process of rising prices, that is, the process of continuous devaluation of currencies. At this moment, the circulation of banknotes exceeds the amount of money required for the circulation of commodities, which in turn causes the devaluation of the currency and increases in prices. Inflation is a common social and economic phenomenon under the circulation of banknotes. However, inflation is not an economic phenomenon peculiar to the circulation of paper currency. Inflation also exists under the conditions of the circulation of metal money. In ancient China, there were a large number of anti-inflation ideas. Nowadays, despite the changes in the political and economic conditions, the efforts of the ancients in fighting against inflation and their exploration have enlightened many of our current anti-inflation policies.
