According to the statistics of the Ministry of Commerce, in the first nine months of 2013, there were 16,351 foreign-invested enterprises nationwide, down 9.29% from the same period of last year. The actually utilized foreign capital reached 88.609 billion U.S. dollars, up by 6.22% over the same period of last year. In the month of September, 1,871 foreign-invested enterprises were set up across the country, down 16.77% over the same period of last year; actual utilized foreign investment was 8.84 billion U.S. dollars, up 4.88% over the same period of last year. From January to September, 13,223 newly-established enterprises in China were invested in ten countries in Asia (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and South Korea), down by 7.21% from the same period of last year. 76.292 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.47%.
